A client's offhand remark about AI images made me rethink my whole funnel

Last Tuesday I was walking through a client's product shots with them in Austin. They pointed at one of our AI generated lifestyle pics and said "this looks too perfect, nobody's kitchen is that clean." That one line hit me hard because I'd spent 2 weeks pushing hyper polished visuals. I went back and tested gritty, real looking photos against the perfect ones on their landing page. Conversions went up 31% in 10 days with the messy shots. Has anyone else found that imperfections actually sell better than flawless AI output?

Oh man, that client comment would've knocked me sideways too. I spent months making everything look like a magazine spread for my own site and got crickets. Then I posted a photo of my actual desk with clutter and a half empty coffee cup on it and that post got three times the engagement. People are just tired of fake, they want to see themselves in what they're buying. That 31% is no joke, gritty wins.
