Blew $600 on an AI content generator that wrote pure garbage for 3 months

Ngl I was desperate to scale up my website content fast so I dropped $600 on one of those 'AI article writers' that claimed to produce SEO-optimized posts in minutes. After 3 months of editing every single output because it kept making up fake stats and weird phrasing, I realized I could have just hired a freelancer for cheaper and gotten way better results. Has anyone else had to completely rewrite AI generated blog posts to the point where it defeats the purpose?

Hate to push back, but $600 for three months of content generation versus a one-time freelancer fee isn't really a fair comparison. That money covered a lot of articles, even if they needed heavy editing. A single freelancer piece at $50 would have gotten you way less volume. Plus, AI tools can be a starting point if you treat them like a draft machine instead of expecting finished work. Just gotta feed them better prompts and check everything before posting.

Oh man, "AI article writers" is such a scam for anything half-decent. I learned this the hard way too - spent way too long fixing made-up citations and that weird robot tone. Honestly, you're better off grabbing a template from Google Docs and writing it yourself, then paying a freelancer on Upwork to polish it up for like $50.
