Had a customer call me out for using generic AI copy on his moving quote

Last month I was pitching a big moving job to a guy named Rick in Cleveland. He looked over my estimate and said "this sounds like a bot wrote it, not a real mover." He was right - I had been using ChatGPT to write all my marketing emails and it just didn't sound like me. I spent the next week rewriting everything in my own voice and actually got 3 more bookings from that same area. Has anyone else had clients call them out for sounding too robotic?

Huh, maybe it's just me but I'd rather get a clean quote than worry about how it sounds.

People get way too worked up about this stuff. You're getting a quote from a person, not writing a poem. If the quote is clean and accurate, who cares if it's a little rough around the edges? Half the time the best quotes are the ones that sound a bit awkward because they're real. The internet is full of people trying to sound deep when they're just repeating themselves. Keep it simple, get the facts right.
