Wait your friend literally thought you were having a crisis over ad copy? That's both hilarious and brutal at the same time. I can totally picture someone reading those generic lines with a straight face and then getting genuinely concerned for your mental health lmao. That 0.8% click-through rate is painful but honestly the wake-up call probably saved you months of wasted ad spend. Reading copy out loud is the real test though, I started doing that and caught myself writing stuff that sounded like a robot reading a dictionary. Your competitor basically did you a favor by stealing that line now you know exactly what everyone else is saying too.

Check your own ads for that same robotic feeling. I started reading mine out loud and it was like listening to a boring textbook. The moment you cringe at your own copy is when you know it's time to rewrite everything.
