Just learned ChatGPT wrote 70% of a competitor's blog posts last quarter

Tbh I was digging through this rival company's content strategy for a client and ran their latest 30 posts through one of those AI detection tools. Over 70% of their stuff came back as AI generated. I double checked with a second tool because I didn't believe it at first. Their blog gets like 10x the traffic we do so now I'm wondering if I need to rethink my whole approach. Has anyone else seen big results from heavy AI content?

Are you sure those AI detectors are actually accurate though? I've seen them flag completely human written stuff as AI before.

Oh yeah, I had a teacher mark my paper as AI once and it was just my normal voice.

That's the thing about AI detectors, they're kind of like those grocery store self-checkout machines - sometimes they work perfectly, other times they flag a bag of oranges as an unpaid item. @marymorgan is right that the detectors aren't bulletproof, but even if that guy's content is only half AI, it's still a lot. Feels like we're all just figuring out this weird gray area between what's actually written and what's pumped out by a robot.
