Threw $200 down the drain on an AI copywriting tool that just rewrites blogs badly

I signed up for one of those AI writing platforms that promised to crank out SEO optimized content in seconds. Three months later, I've got a folder of robotic articles that make zero sense and Google hasn't touched a single one. The tool kept making up stats and using the same tired phrases over and over. Has anyone actually found one of these that doesn't pump out garbage?

The thing nobody talks about is how these tools can't tell when a source is lying to them. I tested one by feeding it a deliberately fake article from a satire site and it cited it as fact in the output. So you're not just getting bad writing, you're getting confidently wrong information that could actually hurt your site's credibility. At least with a bad writer you get bad grammar, not fabricated statistics that sound real enough to fool someone.

The "confidently wrong information" part hit me hard. I had a similar thing happen. Used an AI to help with a blog post about nutrition. It cited a study that sounded super legit, author names and everything. Looked it up later. The study didn't exist. Pure hallucination from start to finish. That's what scares me more than bad grammar. A human at least knows when they're making something up. Or they'd feel nervous about it. These tools don't have that. They're always sure of themselves, even when dead wrong. That fake confidence is dangerous. It can trick you into trusting something that's completely made up.
