Caught a cracked link pin before taxi out of Boise... barely

During a preflight walkaround at Boise last Tuesday, I spotted a hairline fracture on the nose gear link pin that the boroscope missed the night before. Swapped it in 40 minutes with a spare from the parts cage, but it got me thinking, how often do we trust the last guy's inspection too much? Anyone else find something obvious that techs skipped over, or am I just paranoid after 18 years in this trade?
