I found out 40% of engine failures trace back to a single bolt torque error

Was reading through NTSB reports last night (bored, I know) and saw that 4 out of 10 engine-out incidents in small GA planes come from the same TCM connecting rod bolt being under-torqued. I had no idea one fastener could cause that much chaos. Anyone else ever caught that spec being way off during a build?

That little bolt is basically the weak link in a whole chain. Funny how one small thing can wreck everything, even in other stuff like cars or tools. Always checks the torque on those connecting rod bolts twice now after seeing this stat. Feels like half of mechanical failures I see in life come from one little part nobody bothered to double check.

half of mechanical failures come from one little part" - sounds like an exaggeration to me.
