Old torque wrench habits die hard, finally went digital this month
For like 8 years I used a beam style torque wrench on everything, mostly because my first lead taught me that way and said digital was for weekend guys. Last month I had to do a landing gear retract test on a 737 and my wrist was cramping from holding that thing steady. Swapped to a snap-on digital unit and the difference is stupid, it beeps at the right setting and logs the peak for me. Now I'm wondering if I should redo some of my older jobs that I was eyeballing with the beam, or is that just paranoia? Has anyone else made the switch after a decade and found their old readings were off?
