Pro tip: I was wrong about those new composite rivet guns

I thought the lightweight models from Apex Tool were just a gimmick for speed, not strength. After testing one on a Cessna 172's wing skin repair in Tulsa, the pull force was identical to my steel gun but with half the arm fatigue. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference on heavier gauge aluminum?

Seriously, the noise reduction is a game changer in a tight hangar. My old steel gun would ring for days, but these composites just give a dull thud. Makes a long repair job way less of a headache.

Tell me about it, @susan_chen. My ears are still ringing from last year's project with a steel mallet. That dull thud from composites sounds like pure peace and quiet now.

Notice this with everything from car doors to kitchen tools.
