PSA: a loose fitting cost me a whole afternoon on a Lear 45
Last Tuesday I was doing a gear swing on a Lear 45 and one of the hydraulic line fittings felt a little loose. I figured it was fine, you know, just snug it a bit and move on. Well, during the retraction test we got a nasty leak that sprayed fluid everywhere and the gear wouldn't lock up. I had to drain the system, replace the O-ring, and re-bleed the whole thing. Has anyone else had a tiny fitting cause a massive headache like that?

Oh man, that's brutal. Just a heads up though, a "gear swing" is usually just the manual extension and retraction, you might mean a "gear retraction test" where you actually power the system.
