Saw a mechanic at the Denver airport using a zip tie as a temporary safety wire

It was on a cargo door latch pin, and I had to walk over and ask him about it. Has anyone actually seen that hold up on a line check?

Honestly, a zip tie on a cargo door? That's wild. I can't believe someone would even try that as a temp fix, let alone on something that important. Tbh, I'd be shocked if that made it past the next guy looking at it. Seems like asking for a write-up.

Saw a tech use one on a static line inspection once and it passed. It was only for a few hours until the proper part came in.
