Wasted $80 on that fancy torque wrench calibration kit from a random website
I followed the instructions to the letter and my readings were still off by 12 ft-lbs compared to the shop's certified tester, so has anyone else had luck with a specific brand that actually works?

Right there with you, honestly. Dropped $60 on a "premium" serum last month (it was supposed to be some kind of miracle worker) and my skin looks exactly the same. Maybe a little worse, actually, since it dried out my forehead. Could've bought a nice dinner and a bottle of wine instead.
