A customer told me my panel placement was lazy and they were right

Last month I finished up a job in a finished basement. Smarthub and panel up in a corner behind the water heater. Guy walks through, looks at it for 10 seconds. Says ‘you put it where it's easy for you, not where it's useful for me.’ Stung but he had a point. I had been tucking panels in out-of-the-way spots for years to keep things clean. Now I talk through placement with every customer before I mount anything. Takes an extra 5 minutes but saves callbacks. Has anyone else gotten feedback that changed the way you run your installs?

Man, same. Started asking "where do YOU want it?" and everything got easier.

My brother asked me the same thing about two months ago after I kept getting frustrated with my girlfriend over dinner plans. Tried it one time and she just said "I don't know, whatever you want." So that advice didn't really fix anything for me. I still ended up having to pick the restaurant anyway.
