Am I the only one who saw a major code violation at a new apartment complex in Tempe?
They had a wireless keypad for the main entry system mounted directly on a metal door frame, completely killing the signal. Has anyone else run into installers doing this?

Honestly that sounds like a pretty minor issue to me.

A buddy had the same thing, and his lock failed during a snowstorm.

Oh man, that is SO frustrating. I feel your pain, seeing a wireless keypad on a metal frame is just a total setup for failure. It's not a minor issue at all, @the_piper, because now nobody can get in reliably. I've seen this exact thing at a friend's place and they had constant lockouts. It's such a simple thing for installers to get wrong and it ruins the whole system.
