Ditched the foil tape for fiberglass mesh on a commercial job in Austin

I used to swear by foil tape for sealing up duct sensors and cover plates, but after a big install at a restaurant downtown last month, I'm never going back. The foil kept peeling off the metal duct because of the heat and grease in their kitchen, and I had to redo three zones before I tried the fiberglass mesh tape instead. That stuff actually bonds to the surface and flexes with the metal when the AC kicks on. It also held up way better against the vibration from the exhaust fans. Has anyone else had issues with foil tape in hot or dirty environments, or are you all still using it?
