Hardwired vs wireless sensors on a house in Springfield

Did a retrofit in a 1960s house last week and the wireless sensors kept dropping signal through the plaster walls. Swapped to hardwired and everything locked in solid. Has anyone else had issues with wireless in older homes?

Honestly, I read somewhere that old houses with plaster and lathe basically act like a faraday cage for wireless signals. Something about the metal mesh they used to use in the walls back then. So yeah, your experience makes total sense to me. Ngl, if I was doing a retrofit in a 60s house, I'd skip the wireless from the start and just run wires. Saves the headache of trying to find dead spots later.

Did you guys see that video where a guy tested wifi in an old house and got like zero signal in a room with the plaster walls? Because yeah, I remember somebody online saying the same thing about the wire mesh they used back then. It makes sense if you think about it, all that metal in the walls basically blocking everything. I swear my uncle's place from the 50s has spots where you can't even get a phone signal. Running wires is definitely the smarter move for an old house.
