Pro tip: Check your backup battery terminals before winter hits
Last Monday I had to swap out 3 DSC panels in one day because the battery terminals corroded completely through after that cold snap we had. Cost the customer $180 each for the service call alone and they were not happy about it. Anyone else seeing more of this when temps drop?

and the funny thing is those terminals looked fine in the fall when we did our regular checks. I started putting a thin coat of dielectric grease on them after cleaning and it’s helped a ton, just gotta be careful not to get any on the battery itself. in my experience that little bit of prevention saves a headache down the road.

yeah dielectric grease is a lifesaver honestly. I did it on my truck and then forgot about it for like two years, terminals still looked brand new when I finally popped the hood again. kinda makes you wonder why they don't just ship them with that stuff from the factory.
