Pro tip: Stop mounting motion sensors over heat vents
Six months ago a customer in Phoenix asked why their motion detector kept false alarming at 2 PM every day. I blew it off as sun glare until they sent a video showing the AC vent blasting right under the sensor. The feedback stung because I'd been doing that for 8 years without a single complaint, but now I check airflow on every install. Moved the sensor to an interior corner and the false trips dropped from 4 a week to zero. Anyone else run into HVAC interference that you only caught because a homeowner pushed back?
