Rant: A main panel fuse blew during a final inspection at a new build in Greenville
Last Tuesday I was walking a customer through their new system and the main panel's internal fuse just popped for no reason - zero shorts or power surges. Has anyone else had those Qolsys panels just randomly blow a fuse on you?

Check the grounding on the transformer that powers the panel. I had a similar pop at a spec home in Simpsonville and found the transformer ground was loose at the junction box. That little floating neutral can cause just enough of a voltage spike to blow the internal fuse without tripping anything else.

Wait, wouldn't a loose ground on the transformer side cause more of a flickering or humming issue rather than a direct fuse pop, @reese_bell? I've seen a failing capacitor inside the panel itself do exactly what you described without the transformer ground being the problem.
