Remember when we had to program panels with a keypad?
I was swapping out an old Ademco Vista 20P in a house last week and it took me back. Programming zones and delays with just the keypad and those two-digit codes felt like cracking a safe. You had to have the manual open, write everything down, and hope you didn't skip a step. Now, with the apps and laptop software, I can set up a whole system in half the time from my truck. I don't miss the old way at all. The difference is the speed and the fact you can see the whole setup on one screen instead of guessing. It's just better. How many of you still run into those old keypad-only panels on service calls?

My buddy was just complaining about having to program a Vista-10SE like that last month. He said the same thing about it feeling like a bank heist!

Right? Who designed that thing?

Ever notice how those old keypad-only panels always seemed to have one bad LED segment that made you guess if it was a 6 or an 8? Made the bank heist feel a lot harder than it needed to be.
