Surprised by how many panel batteries fail inside 3 years

I was going through some old service records last night and found out that over 40% of DSC panel batteries in our area fail before the 3 year mark. I always figured they'd last at least 4-5 years, but the data from our own jobs in Toledo doesn't lie. Anyone else seeing this kind of early failure rate with their customers?

Oh yeah, that matches what we've been seeing in Cleveland pretty closely. We swapped out a ton of DSC panels last year and I swear half of them were on the original battery that just wouldn't hold a charge anymore (usually right around the 2.5 to 3 year mark, just like you said). The weird thing is they'd still beep fine during the weekly test but then fail hard on a real power outage scenario.

Switched to sealed AGM batteries. Near zero failures since.
