Switched to zip ties instead of screw terminals for sensor wires

I used to think zip ties were hacky until my panel looked like a rat's nest after a 12 zone install in Arlington last week. Now I bundle everything in 5 inch loops and my service calls dropped by half because nothing gets loose anymore. Anyone else ditch screw terminals for something simpler?

Right there with you, zip ties make troubleshooting way easier when wires aren't flopping around everywhere.

@uma_wilson79 nailed it, loose wires are a nightmare for service calls. I switched to zip ties after a 16 zone job in Denver left me staring at a tangled mess that took forever to trace. The trick is leaving those 5 inch loops like you said, but I also color code the bundles by zone type. That alone cut my trouble time in half when I have to go back for something. Zip ties hold way better than screw terminals do in high vibration spots like near doors or windows. A fat bundle feels solid and doesn't rattle loose like those tiny screws always seem to after a few months.
