Treadmill belt slip during my gait test nearly sent me flying

I do medical assistant work but started having knee pain after running, so I booked a gait assessment at the clinic where I work. Last Thursday morning, I hopped on the treadmill at 5.5 mph and the belt slipped hard, nearly threw me off the back. The tech said the machine had been acting up all week but nobody put a maintenance tag on it. I spent the next 20 minutes just redoing warm-up strides while she checked the belt tension with a wrench. We finally got through the analysis and found my hip drops on the left side, which explains the knee ache. Has anyone else had equipment failure mess up a clinical test or assessment? How do you trust the results after that? I'm debating whether to redo the whole thing next week on a different treadmill.
