Shoutout to the guy at the Portland camera swap who told me to switch from squeeze bulbs to a basic air blower for dusting negatives

I used to spend 10 minutes per roll fighting with one of those rubber squeeze bulbs that puffs dust right back onto the film, then I grabbed a $6 rocket blower from his table and now I clear a whole roll in under 2 minutes with no streaks, has anyone else made that switch and noticed a big difference?

Wait wait wait, you're telling me you actually used one of those old squeeze bulbs for that long? I thought those things were basically a plague on film photography that everyone abandoned in like 2010. I switched to the rocket blower maybe five years ago and I still get mad when I think about how much time I wasted blowing dust balls all over my negatives with the old one. The amount of air those rocket blowers push is just insane compared to the squeeze bulb, like it's not even a competition.

Rocket blower fixed the same issue for me. Squeeze bulbs are garbage once you feel how much air the rocket actually moves.
