Stop freezing your 35mm film, it is ruining your shots

I see so many people here tossing their rolls in the freezer to "preserve" them, and I made that mistake too until last month. I pulled out a roll of Kodak Gold 200 that had been frozen for eight months, let it thaw overnight like everyone says, and every single frame came back with a weird pink cast and fogging. The issue is condensation inside the cassette, even if you think you sealed it in a bag, and the cold makes the film base more brittle so it scratches easier in the camera. I talked to the guy at my local lab in Austin, he's been developing for 30 years, and he said he sees this all the time from people who overthink storage. If you are not shooting within a few months, just keep it in a cool dark drawer, not below freezing. Has anyone else tested frozen rolls against fresh ones and seen the difference, or am I the only one who wasted a whole weekend of photos?
