That comment about expired film made me dig out my grandma's old rolls

Someone at the camera store said expired film just adds character, so I finally developed those 12 rolls of Kodacolor my grandmother left in her basement since 1987 and the colors came out this wild yellow-green that honestly looks better than anything modern, has anyone else shot film that old and gotten surprises?
