Brought my Contax to a punk show and the flash sync died after the first three frames

I was at a small basement venue in Portland trying to catch the band's set, but my external flash just stopped working 10 minutes in. Has anyone else had issues with cold solder joints going bad from constant vibration?

Vibration is usually fine, are you sure the flash wasn't just dead from the start?

Haven't you ever had a flash that worked fine for months and then stopped after being in a bag with a bit of jostling? The pins on these speedlights can be pretty fragile, and a hard knock in a camera bag can definitely snap a connection inside the casing. I had a Yongnuo go silent on me once after a short drop onto carpet, so vibration can absolutely be the culprit.
