Focus ring on my F3 is drifting after cold weather shoots
I shoot a lot of winter scenes around Buffalo and the grease in my 50mm f/1.4 gets stiff once it dips below 20 degrees. The ring turns fine but it creeps back about a quarter turn after I set infinity, so my church steeple shots from last weekend came back soft. I know the fix is a CLA, but has anyone used a lighter oil like NyoGel for below freezing work, or should I just stick with the standard rebuild?
