I was sure shooting expired film was a waste of money until I got a roll of 2004 Fuji Superia back from the lab

Picked up 5 rolls for $8 at a garage sale in Austin and the colors came out with this warm, muted look I could never fake in Lightroom, has anyone else had good luck with a specific expired stock?

Holy crap, that's a steal for $8. I shot a roll of some Kodak Gold from 1998 last summer that was sitting in a hot car for like ten years. Ended up with these weird blue-green shadows on everything looked like a bad trip from the 70s. Kinda loved it actually, felt unique.

That "bad trip from the 70s" look is honestly the best kind of accident. @wesley_grant33 I've noticed this happens a lot with old film that's been baked, it's like the heat creates its own color palette. Makes me think about how many cool little surprises we just walk past every day without noticing. Cheap film and bad storage can turn something ordinary into a total one of a kind thing.
