Left my Rolleicord on the bus in Seattle, 3 years later I still check every seat

Last week I spotted someone at a coffee shop with the exact same strap I lost. My fault, I know. I was too busy messing with a light meter app and just walked off the 40 bus. That camera had my granddad's shutter count on it, over 2,000 frames. Has anyone else lost gear to a dumb mistake and still think about it?
