Lost $85 on a "tested" Pentax K1000 from a flea market in Fresno, shutter was dead
Tbh I should have known better but the seller had a table full of cameras and swore this one was fully working. I paid $85 cash, no receipt, and burned a roll of Portra 400 on it before I got the scans back. Every single frame was black or half black because the shutter was stuck at high speeds. I took it to a repair guy in Fresno and he quoted me $120 just to open it up, which is more than the camera is worth. So now I have a paperweight and 36 ruined shots I can never get back. Has anyone else bought from flea market sellers and actually gotten a working body, or is it always a gamble?
