My $180 CLA guy returned my camera with a shutter that fires at 1 speed only, and now I'm out the money and the camera
Dropped off my Pentax K1000 at a shop in Portland back in early March because the shutter was sticking at slow speeds, paid $180 upfront, waited 5 weeks. Got it back last Thursday, ran a test roll through it, and every single frame came out looking the same no matter what I set the dial to. Called the guy, he says the issue was 'pre-existing' and wants another $90 to look at it again. I'm not paying twice for the same repair, so now I'm stuck with a paperweight and a roll of wasted Portra. Has anyone dealt with a repair shop that pulled this on them, and did you just eat the loss or did you fight it?
