Finally dug up a 1798 large cent after 15 years of swinging a detector

Spent a decade using a cheap Bounty Hunter and missing most deep signals, then switched to a used Minelab Explorer last fall and pulled this out of a old park in Albany last week. Has anyone else seen a huge jump in finds after upgrading from a starter machine?

Jumped from a White's Coinmaster to an AT Pro last year and my first trip out I found a 1908 Indian Head where my old machine woulda just hummed. @simon_wood72 you got me thinking about that video too - the guy with the cheap detector missing stuff right under his coil. My buddy still uses a Bounty Hunter and laughs at me for upgrading, but I'm the one pulling silvers now.

Did you see that video where a guy found a 1700s coin in like his second month with an upgraded detector? I bet switching from a Bounty Hunter to an Explorer is like going from a flip phone to a smartphone in terms of depth.
