My best dig week ever was in a vacant lot near Akron
Back in May I spent three afternoons at this old lot behind a torn down gas station off Route 224 in Akron, Ohio. Managed to pull out 14 wheat pennies, a 1918 Mercury dime, and a weird token from a local dairy that shut down in the 60s, all within about four feet of each other. The ground was super soft from recent rain and my detector kept screaming every couple minutes, which was annoying but worth it. Anyone else ever hit a spot that produced like that for a short window before going totally quiet?

Man, that sounds like one of those dream spots! I had a similar thing happen last fall behind an old church in Cuyahoga Falls, three hours of nonstop signals and I pulled a 1917 buffalo nickel plus a pile of wheats, then the next visit it was like somebody flipped a switch and nothing but pull tabs. Those short windows are the best, you just gotta hammer them while the ground conditions are right.
