That $300 'professional' grading service was a total waste

Sent a 1943 steel penny I dug up near the old mill in Lebanon, PA to a mail-in grading company last spring. Paid $300 for their premium tier with photos and it came back saying 'cleaned' which I already knew, no value boost at all. Should've just kept it in my binder and spent that cash on a decent metal detector instead. Anyone else get burned by these mail-in services or is it just me?
