Vent: My $80 detector died 20 minutes into a park hunt

Got a used Garret off Craigslist, seemed fine on the bench. Took it to Riverside Park last weekend, screen went black after 20 minutes. Guess it's the coil cable, gonna try soldering it Sunday. Anyone else fix a dead detector on the cheap?
