Finally got my first batch of compost from my countertop bin after 4 months
I kept messing up by adding too much citrus peel until a friend told me it slows down the breakdown, so I backed off and now the pile is actually cooking right - anyone else struggle with balancing what goes in their small bin?

Tried throwing coffee grounds in there once and my whole apartment smelled like a burnt espresso shot for a week. The worms hated it too.

lol yeah it's a fine line between "nice composting additive" and "your trash can is now a hipster coffee shop". I swear my bin gets an attitude if I add too much of anything.
