Hit 50 pounds of compost in my kitchen corner after 8 months
I started a worm bin under my sink in January and just weighed my finished castings at 52 pounds. That's a lot of banana peels and coffee grounds for a 600 square foot apartment. How much are you guys collecting in a year with your small setups?

Hit 50 pounds of compost" - just a heads up, that's more like half compost and half partially broken down scraps unless you sifted it. Your mileage may vary, but true finished castings are usually way lighter after they dry out a bit.

Oh yeah, ABSOLUTELY. I weighed mine once and it was a solid 15 pounds of rocks and twigs I had to pull out by hand.

15 pounds of rocks and twigs? Good grief, that's a whole lot of sifting you ended up doing.

My first batch of compost I was so proud of how light and fluffy it looked. Got real excited thinking I had like 50 pounds of the good stuff. Then I actually weighed it and it came out to 32 pounds of rocks and twigs and stuff I missed. My back was sore for three days after that sifting session. Lesson learned the hard way. Now I do three passes through the sifter and still end up with a pile of junk.
