My neighbor said my compost smelled like a 'wet dog in a gym bag' and I had to admit she was right.

I was just piling scraps in a bucket under the sink for a week. She told me to add a handful of shredded paper every other day and it fixed the smell in 48 hours. Anyone else have a simple fix that saved their setup?

My first compost pile was so bad, I think the raccoons filed a noise complaint.

Raccoons filed a noise complaint" gave me a good laugh. My first pile was so bad I swear the neighborhood skunks started holding secret meetings about it. I'd go outside at night and hear them hissing at each other like they were arguing over whose turn it was to tip the bin over. Eventually I just gave up and buried everything in a hole like a digital garden version of a garbage monster.
