PSA: My freezer trick finally stopped the fruit flies in my Brooklyn studio

I started freezing all my scraps in a gallon bag for a week before adding them to the bin, and it broke their breeding cycle completely. Anyone else find a simple fix for those tiny pests?

Freezing scraps is a solid plan, it cuts off their food source at the start. I also pour a little bleach down my kitchen sink drain every few weeks. Those drains are a major breeding spot people forget about.

My old apartment in Bushwick had the same problem. I just keep a small bowl of apple cider vinegar out now. Catches them before they even get started.
