PSA: that $25 compost tumbler I bought off FB marketplace was a total scam
I grabbed this secondhand tumbler thinking it'd be perfect for my 400 sq ft apartment balcony but the thing leaks slime everywhere when it rains. The seal is busted and now I've got gross liquid pooling on my floor every time I water my plants. Anyone found a decent small bin under $50 that actually stays closed?

Those 20 dollar Walmart worm bins hold up way better, did you try sealing the crack with flex tape?

Oh man, that sucks... I actually read somewhere that those tumblers are super hit or miss because the plastic gets brittle from the sun. Heard a guy on a gardening podcast say the hinges crack after like six months of UV exposure. For a small space, maybe look into a bucket with a screw on lid? Those are cheap and way sturdier. I'd be so annoyed if slime was dripping on my floor too, that's just nasty. Hope you find something that works before the next big rain.

That's a bummer about the tumbler, I've got a similar one out on my back porch and I'm half expecting it to do the same thing any day now. The sun really does a number on that thin plastic, don't it. I had a cheap bucket with a cracked lid last year and ended up with a mess of slime running down the side, just like you said. A bucket with a screw on lid is a solid idea, they're tougher and you don't have to worry about the whole thing falling apart on you.
