Rant: Bokashi bins vs worm bins in a tiny studio, bokashi won by a mile
I tried worm composting for about 4 months in my 300 sq ft studio near downtown Austin. It was a mess. The worms kept escaping, the bin smelled even with proper layering, and I killed two batches of red wigglers by accident. Finally switched to a bokashi bucket system 6 weeks ago and it's so much easier. No smell, no bugs, no worms dying. I just dump scraps in, add the bran, and drain the juice every few days. Has anyone else tried both in a small space like mine? What worked better for you?
