Realized my worm bin went from stinky mess to almost no smell after I stopped adding citrus peels.
It took about 3 months for me to notice the difference, but now I just toss orange rinds in the freezer first and the whole setup barely smells at all anymore, has anyone else had that happen?

Freezing them first makes a noticeable difference for sure. Did you try just reducing the amount you added before you went straight to the freezer, or was that the only thing that worked for you?

pat_murray16 I feel like freezing is just my way of tricking the worms into thinking the peel is a weird icy treat they should avoid. I tried cutting back first, but I'm TERRIBLE at moderation with citrus. One day it's a single wedge, the next I'm dumping a whole bag of lemons in there like some kind of maniac. Freezing them has been the ONLY thing that stopped my bin from smelling like a frat house garbage can.
