Went to Chicago and saw a bokashi system in a tiny studio

Visited my cousin's place in Lincoln Park last weekend. She's got a 400 sq ft studio with a bokashi bucket under her sink. Zero smell, I was shocked. She uses the fermented scraps on a balcony planter. Anyone tried bokashi in a really small space without issues?

Zero smell, I was shocked" - that's been my experience too honestly. I was so worried about trying it in my small apartment but it's been fine, no weird smells at all.
