Customer handed me a bag of half-eaten snacks and asked me to fix their ice maker while they finished their sandwich
This lady in Omaha last Thursday actually sat there eating a turkey and swiss while I was elbow deep in her fridge, and she kept asking me if I wanted chips like I was there for a lunch date, has anyone else had a customer act like you're just hanging out instead of working?

RIGHT? I had a guy pull up a lawn chair and offer me a beer while I was diagnosing his dishwasher leak. I was like "Buddy I appreciate it but I really need to see where this water's coming from before it ruins your floorboards.

I had a lady in Tulsa last year hand me a plate of leftover lasagna while I was cleaning out her refrigerator coils. She actually pulled up a chair and started telling me about her divorce. I learned two things from that - keep your tools organized so you can grab them fast and always have an exit line ready, like "I should check the water line connection before it gets worse." The key is to stay polite but keep moving toward the door or the next task so they understand you're there for work, not conversation. I've found most people mean well, they just don't know where to draw the line with someone in their home.
