Had a washing machine that drove me NUTS for two hours
I was at a house in Phoenix last Thursday working on a Samsung top loader that kept stopping mid cycle with a 'Sud' error. Customer said they already tried running a clean cycle and it did nothing. I checked the drain hose and it was fine, no kinks. Pulled the pump filter and found a bunch of lint and a sock stuck in there. Cleared that out and ran a spin test, still error. Then I actually looked at the instruction manual and saw you have to run a specific 'debris drain' cycle first. I missed that step completely. After that, the machine worked perfect. I felt like a total dummy for not reading the manual sooner. Has anyone else dealt with a Samsung Sud error that turned out to be something silly like this?

...and that's exactly why I tell people to check the manual before doing anything else with a Samsung washer. I've seen three different machines now where the fix wasn't the obvious stuff like the filter or the drain hose, it was that special debris cycle they hide in the settings menu. The manual for those is like a choose your own adventure book, you have to read the troubleshooting section step by step or you miss something. I think Samsung does that on purpose so people will call a repair guy and pay for a simple fix they could do themselves. But good on you for figuring it out, at least you didn't have to buy a whole new machine over a stuck sock.
