Remember that old parts supplier on 5th Street that closed down?

When they shut their doors for good about five years back, I had to figure out how to find obscure gaskets online. It forced me to learn to search by OEM part number instead of just walking in with the old piece. What's the most random part you've had to hunt down lately?

I hear you on the "scavenger hunt" thing, but honestly I kinda like the hunt. If everything was easy to find, we'd never learn anything new about what we're working on.

Yeah, that scavenger hunt line is dead on. Feels like you need a guidebook just to find basic info online anymore.

Try keeping a folder of browser bookmarks for the sites you actually trust, that way you're not starting from scratch every time. I have a whole folder labeled "useful stuff" that I just dump things into when I find them, saves me so much time digging through Google results. Also checking a site's search bar first usually works better than scrolling through pages of results.
