Screwdriver slipped inside a freezer evap coil, almost lost the whole unit

Was swapping a defrost thermostat in a GE fridge in Arlington yesterday, and my driver caught the coil fin and bent it bad enough to nick the line. Caught the hiss in time, pumped it down and brazed it, but that was a sweaty 20 minutes. Anyone else had a close call like that, or do you pull the whole panel first now?

Arlington, glad you caught it in time. That hiss still gives me chills.
