Shoutout to the guy who showed me the freezer gasket trick
I was at a supply house in Des Moines last Tuesday picking up a compressor and an old-timer told me to use a hair dryer on stubborn gaskets instead of prying them off. Tried it on a five-year-old Whirlpool freezer door and the gasket came off clean in two minutes. Has anyone else found a weird tool that works better than the standard stuff?

That hair dryer trick sounds genius. I just used a heat gun on a stubborn fridge latch last week and nearly melted the whole door.

My husband did something similar with a heat gun on a plastic ice maker part. It took about five seconds before the whole thing started bubbling and warping. Did you actually end up replacing the fridge door, or were you able to sand it down and paint over the damage?
